4.5 Hour Event – Winter Solstice In Karnak Temple From Luxor (WTE-3270)

You will be picked up from your Luxor (East Bank) accommodation between 4.45 and 5.00 am for a short drive to the Karnak Temple, where you will gather and await the magnificent sunrise over the temple's axis.
Only one day per year, upon the Winter Solstice on 21 December, this marvellous event of extraordinary knowledge of the ancient Egyptians about the science of astronomy occurs. You experience this exceptional, esoteric sunrise over the temple's axis and the holiest of holy: the sanctuary of the ancient Egyptian God, Amun Ra, God of Sun & Light and Creator of the Universe.
The ceremony is adorned with several popular folklore dances representing Luxor's heritage.
After the sun moves to the West Bank towards Hatshepsut Temple, before 08.00, you will have time to walk around the Karnak Temple, built by the rulers of Ancient Egypt from the 12th dynasty to the rule of the Ptolemaic pharaohs.
At 09.00 am, you will be returned to your Luxor East Bank accommodation.
